Food Friday

When the hubs is away there is little cooking going on at my house. He is harvesting his corn right now and not home very much. So, frozen and quick grabs it is. It makes the topics for Food Friday a bit dense. I have not been watching many cooking shows lately either. I have been watching a lot of Praise Baby and Disney Channel instead. It makes my little foodie happy.

You might not think of cauliflower as a convenience food, but I do. I love to buy it and broccoli and grab a handful at a time and chomp away. I bought cauliflower this week and have really enjoyed it. Frozen meals can be so overdone. I bought this one for the first time this week and loved it. It tastes different than the other frozen pizzas I have had in this line and others. Tell me - what do you do besides frozen meals when you need a quick and easy meal at home for just yourself? I need ideas!! He harvests beans next....there is no end to the frozen foods in sight! ha.

Really, Woman...you want me to eat a banana with this thing?

Ok, so it tastes like a banana...

Wow, Mama, this is actually good!

It is not Food Friday without a little glimpse at my little foodie.
Tell me - what do you give your babies with this mesh eater thing? Do you like using it? I am at a loss on what all one can do with it.

Happy Food Friday!
Abby

O my -- Lincolns LOVES that little mesh feeder thing! All I have been brave enough to put in there yet is a piece of ice but he goes after it for about 10 minutes! I love looking at new pics of Henry! He is a doll.
What a cutie.....Love your blog and love your design....always enjoy my stops....
I just love your blog, Julie and Abby!

My husband is a manager for Schwan's so frozen meals are a staple in our house!! I say there is NOTHING wrong with convenience as long as it's moderately healthy!! Schwan's has a line of "Live Smart" meals meant for convenience and balanced diet. But we always have lots of cereal in the house as well for single meals or snacks.

Henry's face is priceless in the first picture! Just adorable. Ashtyn never did take up with the mesh thingy. We tried frozen strawberries when she was teething but that was the only time she'd bother with it and not for long even then.

All Aboard The Birthday Polar Express

Can you believe Henry Patton will be 4 years old tomorrow?! Neither can we. We celebrated his birthday last weekend with his first all boy party, polar express style. I had so much fun preparing for it, as you can probably tell! My mother who is never at a loss for words said it looked like Polar Express threw up in my house. She was SO right and we loved it! We had a breakfast pajama party with 7 three and four year old boys. It was such a fun time.   I had his pajamas monogrammed with a train and his name. He loved them and I liked how they sort of looked like the ones on the movie. Henry loved all the bells I had everywhere. There is no doubt we believe at this house. We had the jingle loud and proud!   I had his invitation made from a shop on Etsy and I was very pleased with them. One of his little friends came to the door ready for me to punch his ticket. It was so cute. I ran to get a hole punch and punched it for him. Every good party has to have go

Meet Shaun

This is my single co-worker and church friend, Shaun. He and I have so much fun bantering back and forth. He takes what I dish out and scoops it right back up and hands it back to me. He is a keeper for that and many other reasons, which I will share on this post. He was kind enough to allow me to highlight him on Kelly’s Korner http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/ for her singles link up. His last words to me about this were, “ This better not be an embarrassment! ” I trust I will do my best to make it not be, but I make no promises! The first thing you need to know about Shaun is that he loves Jesus and the Boston Red Sox . He asked Jesus into his heart at age 8 and is still seeking and serving him today at age 26. Shaun graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in digital media and design. When he is not busy creating masterpieces for our customers he is hiking, watching the Red Sox , playing basketball, horsing around at the lake or beach, and watching movies. He is fu

What A Year

This time last year we began our journey back to God's country . It has been a fun filled , fast paced year. Randall started his job in March . I quit mine in May and became a desperate housewife until July . We sold our house in June and bought our new home in August. We remodeled the new house all fall and put in many hours at work . We celebrated in our home for Thanksgiving and at Christmastime with new friends and family . Here we are in this place , thanking God for his provision and many blessings . Last year if you would have told me I would be this happy , I would have cried bitter tears . Now, I catch myself crying tears of joy . Wow, how this ole world turns ! I look back at our "We have Moved" card and we look scared . I look at our Christmas card and we look tired and overwhelmed . I look at us now and we look comfortable and in our element . I will cherish this journey , always. *the red words link to previous posts from the past year. Abby
