Who's Yo Mama

This was my 7th Mother's Day being a mama. I love being this boy's mama more than anything. The joy is unmeasurable and so are the gray hairs!  My husband is the best gift giver and does not skimp on showering me with what I love best  to excessive proportions. He knows it's my love language. The ladies in both of the gift shops know him now and know what I have and don't have yet in my various collections. It really makes my heart melt. I love him for it.  I'm a sucker for a collection.  The new domed glass "I love you" charm for my necklace was the best. My neck is not the prettiest thing anymore since my surgery but these boys of mine keep adorning it with charms! It's my battle scar and to me it says "it was not cancer so BOOM!"  After church they took me to downtown Memphis for the day. They know that's my place and we were in need of a Redbirds game before it gets too hot outside. They were giving away shirts for kids to personaliz...

My Little Date

Henry and I had a mother/son date night on Friday night in honor of Mother's Day. His Daddy took our picture on the back patio before we left the house. Randall gave him all kinds of pointers as he put him in the car and waved us down the driveway. It was cute. We went to Chick fil A because they were having a mother/son date night. They had red carpet rolled out for us, they seated us and took our order at a nicely decorated table. They had live music, flowers and balloons for us. They had little handouts on the tables to teach boys manners and printed menus so you could order from the table. I loved it! Henry loved it because he got his chicken and ketchup...he is such a simple date. It was the first date I have ever had where I had to feed my date, clean his snotty nose and change his diaper. I enjoyed it a lot though! They had a convertible you could take a ride in. I had no intentions of partaking in this activity and if you know me well, you must know how it took biting al...

My First Mother's Day

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. .Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.. I did...

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day Mom! You have been an outstanding example of a Godly mother. You have given us inspiration and insight into what it takes to be a loving, caring mother. Thank you for all the love and kindness you have shown to us and continue to show to us. We love you! Happy Mother's Day to all the other moms in our lives. We are the women we are because of you! (And that is supposed to be a compliment!) Love, Julie and Abby

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day! My day started before 7:00. The boys all came in my room with cards. David and Daniel made their cards, and Samuel bought his card (but forgot to sign it, I didn't say anything, no need to make him feel bad.) They bought me a purse last week at a yard sale down the street. It had never been used, so it was in excellent condition and they got it for only 50 cents, so it was quite a deal. I will take it to church with me today. It is cute green paisley and you know how I love paisley!!! After the presents and cards were over with, Daniel came back in the room with a tie around his neck, a towel over his arm and his civil war hat on and wanted to know what I wanted for breakfast-these were my choices: cereal, poptart , or marshmallows . I chose cereal with a side of marshmallow . I mean how could I turn down marshmallows for breakfast?! My plate came and I got 4 marshmallows -I hit the mother load!!! Have you ever eaten cereal while there are pickles on your plat...
