Life with my sister

This weekend I had the honor of hosting a baby shower for my friend Sandy in my home with a few other girls. Sandy and I met when I moved to town through the newcomers club. Sara (standing next to me) is also a friend from that club and my running buddy. The other two girls were church friends of Sandy's that joined Sara and me in hosting the shower. We had a great time getting to know each other and showering our sweet friend. Our shower table turned out so pretty. I made the cake and did the decor. The other hostesses did the rest of the food and punch. The baby's room is green and pink so we tried to match it! The baby's last name is also Green, so using green was great fun. I made the cake. A 4 layer strawberry cake with buttercream icing. It was so much fun to make. I have not had that much fun decorating a cake in a very long time. Sweet Henry got his 6 months shots this week. We love his doctor. He is such a blessing to our little family. I am glad he came to our hospital room as the doctor on call when Henry was born, otherwise I would not have known how wonderful he is. We had chosen a different doctor for Henry but I made the switch to him after seeing his bedside manner. I love this picture because it needs no caption! Our little Daddy with his boy. He met us at the doctor. He is such a sweet little Daddy! Henry and I are about 3 blocks from one another during the week. His doctor's office is right between us. Driving to all 3 places is a little much so I decided we would walk. His daycare director gave me the daycare stroller and insisted I use it. They fixed him a bottle and gave him his blanket. It was so cute watching them pack him up in that little bitty stroller with all his stuff. They then walked me out with him and wished him well with his shots. My friends and coworkers were kind enough to give us a shower this past week. They went way out of their way to celebrate Henry with us. It was a fun time to visit after work and open fun baby gifts. The shower was extra special because Jules and Anna came to town for it and spent the night with us. I was so proud she made it to one of my showers. It meant a lot to have Henry's Juju there with me....and Anna too! This was our final shower. We feel so blessed to have all we need to create a nice and fun environment for our baby boy. My dear friends Stacee and Melissa hosted this shower My sweet Aunt in-law and cousins-in-law came to celebrate Henry. Diana (Aunt) made the cute diaper cake in the corner Lindsey was sweet to stay for my shower and help me get all of Henry's gifts back to the house Henry's Marmie (my Mama) sent this handsome outfit What a fabulous cake and spread. Today we were showered again. Two weekends in a row. I feel so blessed that I may pop with joy and excitement. Henry is loved already, I know that is for sure! It was so great to see family and friends this morning for a yummy brunch. This past weekend we headed west for a big weekend of birthdays, (mine was Sunday and then we also had a 60th surprise for my mom) lots of family in town, a baby shower and a church reunion. This post is dedicated to the baby shower. Fort Smith Shower Hostesses Melissa - My BFF Sarah - My cousin who is 11 months older than me Staci - My cousin-in-law (married to Zach) The fabulous cake Sarah made for the shower. She matched Henry's bedding. The bottom layer was chocolate with Oreo filling and the top layer was strawberry with cream cheese filling. Mucho yummy and beautiful!
