My Cute Boy

I just had to show you how cute my boy was at church today. He actually picked the hat out himself at the store and I bought the shirt to match. We compromised with the sweater vest with a cookie bribe, and had a cute little outfit. Julie says Henry is still my big, live baby doll...and that he is. I love dressing my Henry. I think it is safe to say dressing him is my hobby! poor little cutie - ha! Abby

A Tote Of Blessings

Henry and I headed to Memphis this week to see the fam and for me to shop my friend's fall/winter consignment sale at the Agricenter. She is such a peach and lets me in for the first preview sale each season. It is so good to know sweet people...I am blessed by her. I get the first pick with a handful of other parents and it is so much fun! Lots of my old work buddies/friends are there each time and it is like a social outing and a bargain hunt all at once. SCORE! Randall usually goes with me but he was in Indiana this week, so I ventured out alone....while Henry played and ate at the Piccadilly with the fam (I know Wilma ate her veggie plate in heaven smiling down on that meal. Sweet memories at that place). Preparing for this sale is like an all out mission. close family and friends are all wishing me luck...like I am competing in a championship or something. It is serious stuff. I get siked up for days, checking online for costs on things I will be looking for so I can compare...

Love Is In The Air

Can you believe it has been a year?! He was just becoming the little heartbreaker that he is. This year I had this fun shirt made and matching cookies. I know you must laugh at me. I can't hear you, but I know you do it. I had cookies made for his Valentines. It was way cute, and I realize that none of his little friends know they match his shirt, but his mama knows and that is her little Valentine gift to herself! And here is my sweet little 2011 Valentine. Look how he has grown. Love is in the air, for sure! He decided to taste test his Valentines, wrapper and all. Henry wants to give you one of his yummy Valentine treats and tell you he loves you the BIG much! Happy Love Day! Abby

A Shopping Score!

I went to my local consignment shop the other day and SCORED!! I have been a few times recently and have come back empty handed. Sad, really. Well, we did buy a bed for Samuel there, but I don't count that. It was a bargain, but it was way more money than I normally spend at a consignment store. I had some time to waste before I had to be somewhere so we stopped in at A&E's to shop around. And I'm so glad I did! I got a beautiful plaid Bonnie Jean Christmas dress for Anna, a Tiara Christmas sweater for Anna (that is so very cute. It has reindeer on the front and back. Oh my goodness, cute!), and two pair of leggings and one pair of purple velour pants (because who doesn't need a pair of those for winter!) for her. And a Blue Angels t-shirt for D&D to share. Are you ready for my total? $9.53! 6 items=$9.53! I hit the jackpot that day! I was so excited. I bet you're excited for me, aren't you?! Come on down and I'll take you shopping! It's great fu...

Mandy Ann Clothing

Rock n roll, baby! Rocking and rolling across the floor. Henry looks so stylish in his Mandy Ann outfit Oh, the good ole days of pledging. If you can spot me, you can spot my sweet friend Amanda with the short blonde hair right next to me. We are on the bottom of the pile.We both transferred as sophomores and lived across the hall from one another long enough to develop a strong bond (I moved up 3 floors pretty quick because I had a bipolar roommate who threw my hot rollers at me one night when we went to eat pizza and did not invite her. Not cool). Amanda majored in nursing and took her schooling very seriously. She was the most disciplined 19 year old on earth, I promise! I was not. She had a cool car she called "Elmer" and we rolled the streets of Shawnee, OK like nobody's business in that thing. She and I made many memories in the very short time we had together. Today she is married to a wonderful guy, a mother of two and makes clothing for children. She made the...

To Consign or Not to Consign

It is that time of year again. Everywhere you drive, you see billboards for consignment sales for children's clothes. They have cutesy names and cute logos. And they make you want to go buy some used clothes! I have been selling my kids clothes in a consignment sale in Little Rock called Duck Duck Goose for years. It is really the only way I bring in money for the family. Its really the least I can do! Generally the sale takes place at the very beginning of the spring and the very beginning of the fall. Which means that I must go up to the attic, bring all of last years clothes down and have a try-on session with the kids. Oh my, but how they love it! Oh, how I kid! With four kids in the house and all their clothes from last year out and usually in my bedroom floor my house is a clothes mess! After they try the clothes on and it is determined what can still be worn and what can be sold the real work begins. The clothes must be hung on hangers, priced, tagged, put in the computer,...
