Featured Family

http://ordinaryfamilies.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/lee3/ This is a link to the blog our preschool ministry has just started. Its purpose is to introduce several families in our church as an encouragement to others in their walk with the Lord. We are the first family to be featured. It thrills my heart to serve in this church and have them serve us the way they do. If you do not have a church family, I encourage you to find one. If you live in our neck of the woods we would love to have you come to NBC with us. Abby

Soul Sisters

Julie is in my town this week...whoo hoo! She invited me to hang out with the pastor's wives on Monday and we were able to get a hug and a fun picture with our blog friend, Judy . She is the mother of the infamous, Kelly of Kelly's Korner . She was as genuine and sweet and she appears on her blog. We loved meeting you in person, Judy! Julie invited me to a luncheon with all these ladies. It was fun to be apart of Julie's world for a bit. I know nothing about being a preachers wife other than watching my Meemaw and now my sister. I enjoyed getting to meet other women like my sister and understand her world a bit more. I love that she reads the Bible on her Kindle...only Julie! Julie has such a heart for ministry. I loved listening to her share bits and pieces of her testimony to these women. She was so real, funny and loving. It made me so proud to call her mine! Julie's Friend Lisa came from another state to speak to the ladies in this fine group. I loved meeting h...

Blog Award

Thank you so much Kelley for this award! We are honored. The Rules: 1. Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be? Julie - I would have waited to date until I was 16. The rule at my house was that I didn't date until I was 16 and somehow I convinced my mom that going out on an impromptu date just 2 1/2 months after my 15th birthday was a good idea. My heart was broken when I was 15 because I chose to give it to someone that didn't take care of it. If I could go back, I would have said "NO" when asked out that Halloween night. Abby - I would not have let my career define me as a young adult and gotten caught up in perfecting the juggling act. I am so glad to have the chance to redefine myself for who I really am as a child of God, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister and a friend who has strengths that have nothing to do with a job, as I embark on a new career path. It makes me sad to th...

The Real Deal

I have not opened up and vented in a long time. I know you have missed it. ha. I really don't have the time to sit and think long enough to warrant a venting session these days but tonight I think I will do some airing out and sharing my thoughts ( I know you are most excited - ha). Jules and I started this blog 3 years ago ( our blogiversary is in 3 days!) as a way to share our lives together and to have fun keeping our friends and family updated on our activities and such. It has been so fun. Since the time we started, the blog world has exploded. We are not a cutting edge blog for the most part, we do not get comments but the ones from Kelley and our Daddy from time to time, but we do get traffic, lots of traffic. We are cool with that and do not care that people read without commenting, though we would dig having you comment! We just hope we leave each of you with a smile, a laugh and or encouragement in one way or another. We are not on here to be proud, boastful or rude. We...

A Blind Date & Leaving Comments

8 years ago today I met this sweet man in the picture above. We met on a blind date in the Bluff City (aka- Memfrica). He and I were simply going out to shut up his stepmother and my sister, who had decided that we were meant to be together from one simple fridge photo and a dog named Abby. Little did we know they would be able to pat themselves on the back for the rest of their lives . I am so glad we both agreed to go out for that one date on New Years Eve 2001 because I have had him in my life everyday since that crazy night at my cousin Hollye's back door when he arrived to pick me up to find a baby on my hip that he thought was mine. I remember those beautiful blue eyes and how they about popped out of his head as he stood at the door wondering why no one had mentioned my child. That baby on my hip was Claire. She was 1 then and had just gone number 2 in her diaper right before he rang the bell. She had Styrofoam all over her and me from playing in Christmas boxes. Needless t...

Bloggy Reading

I love to read. Books, magazines, newspapers, blogs. It really doesn't matter what it is, I just like to read it. I read 10 or so blogs a day. Some of people I know and some of people I don't know. I don't always comment on blogs. I just kind of stalk them! I'm a blog stalker. We also have a blog stalker. I'm thinking we have more than just one, but this is about one in particular! You know who you are! She also reads blogs, many of the same ones I read. She is all about what is going on in their lives. She even wants to talk about them as if she is personal friends with them even though she isn't. When we see each other we talk about the blogs, but I have never felt like sharing any information about the blogs I read with other people until now! Over the last few days I have read a couple of blogs and they had such exciting news on them I wanted to tell Stephen. I caught myself a number of times wanting to tell him of this news and of this even bigger news . I...

Where Is My Sister

I am beginning to wonder if she is ever going to post on here again or if she is having way too much fun out on her own? She best come back here soon....I miss her. Without her I am not whole! Let her know you miss her too, if you will. I know I miss the shared postings...it is all me lately and I know that is enough to drive you far, far away to another blogosphere! Tell me this: What would you like to see more of? Sister tales Q&A Craft & thrift reports Random daily & weekly updates Give us direction as we move forward. We value your opinion since you take the time to read all this nonsense! What do you want to see? We want comments.... Abby
