Update

Stephen has a job! Yay!! A prayer answered! The hours are flexible and his boss is a good man. The job came about much like everything has the past few months, in God's great timing and with us in awe. He will also be working at the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry, used to be BSU) at a local college. It will be a great way to meet people and tell them about Jesus. We are excited about what God is doing. Stephen's parents came last weekend. It was their first time here since we moved in. It was good for them to see us settled and happy. And the kids always have fun when they visit. we never take pictures though. I need a personal photographer. Amen?! Thanks for your prayers. God is listening! Julie

Where Simple Goodness Begins

Randall has scored a new job! I am so elated for him. The pride beaming in his smile is something a picture couldn't capture, so I haven't even bothered (plus, I have bronchitis and taking a picture of anything right now is effort I can't muster up at this point). He is finally getting to do what he has worked up to for the past decade. We are in awe at how all this came about and we are praising Jesus for all of it! So, why the butter picture? Well, he is working for Land O' Lakes but he will not be making butter. Since this is the only thing most of us know about Land O' Lakes, I thought it was most fitting. I am still trying to figure out if there is an employee discount on butter, but I am doubting it real seriously. P.S. Yes, the post title is the Land O' Lakes slogan. I am already drinking the Kool-Aid, so to speak. Abby

The Newcomer

If you click on this, it will enlarge. I blacked my last name out for all the stalkers out there. I wish them not to hunt me down and kill me, rob me or ask for my John Hancock. This is me in the December issue of the Jonesboro Occasions Magazine. I was one of the 2 newcomers highlighted, this month. This picture was taken at my desk. I am mad because they edited my motto and it looks like I do not know my scripture real well. I said "Count it all joy" and they added "as" in there. Great stuff. Oh well, means the same thing, I reckon. I guess Randall and I have reached the top of the heap. We are in both "who's drinking now" (the slang name for the social mags in J-Town) magazines more than once this month. I realized today, I truly can't wear my new Burgundy velvet jacket to both Christmas parties this week, as I had planned, for fear of being documented at 2 events in the same outfit. Heavens. Yes, it is like social club days at OBU, all over a...

Good News

(I know it is not a list of my favorite things, nor is it my day to post, but it will be alright). I am the new Marketing Coordinator at St. Bernards Healthcare . This was a HUGE interview process and it is going to be a HUGE job, but I am ready for it! Thank you for those who have been praying for this job. It is appreciated more than you know. Jonesboro gets friendlier with each passing day! Abby

I Am Not Wearing Green - I Forgot!

This is Rand’s last week at Stoneville. He has been there for seven years. The other night he mentioned that maybe it was possible that he might have broken a mirror before he started working there. He said it with a straight face and really questioned it in his mind. I laughed out loud. I do love his humor. I am so glad this job has come to pass for him yet, I am so glad at what it has taught him. He waited for the right job to come along before he left this job. This new position is nothing but part of God’s master plan for him. It is most exciting times in our home. Our home… well, it is not up for sale yet. It is ready for sale but not for sale. We are at the mercy of the relocation company, so we wait. Rand will live in a furnished apartment or extended stay hotel until our house sells. We will then purchase a home in the Jonesboro area. We have our eye on several homes and hope they will still be on the market when it is time to purchase. We had an agent come look at our home ove...
