Wrong Observation

Do you remember my post from last week about the people at McDonald's? I wrote about the hostess and a man that flirted with her. Well, there is the rest of the story. ( I said that with Paul Harvey's voice in my head.) The kids and I went to a local church Sunday night (without Stephen, he had meetings to attend and we chose not to go with him) and I saw a lady that looked familiar. The kids didn't know her and I stood during a couple of songs trying to figure out who she was. Don't you hate it when you do that? I finally figured it out! She was the hostess at McDonald's. And the man sitting next to her? He was the man from McDonald's! They are married! I laughed out loud. I thought it was the funniest thing. I told David and he didn't seem to care, I told Samuel and he got it and laughed with me. We were the only people laughing while the congregation was singing Crown Him with Many Crowns. Irreverant? Maybe. Funny? Definintely. I'm sitting here at McD...

Craft Crazy

I have so many fun ideas in my head but very few make it to fruition these days with being a working mother of a toddler and wife to a husband who travels. I love my many blessings, so don't think I am complaining...just being for reals here...a girl can't do it all, all the time! So, this past weekend I decided we were going to create and that we did! It was a crazy, fun time. It felt so good to get it out of my head and see the ideas come to life. I am loving Pinterest. I am getting all sorts of handprint/footprint ideas for H. I decided to do a handprint or footprint each month this year and make a calendar of them next year. So, we made this footprint into a snowman and we went ahead and did a Valentine hand craft. It is suppose to make a heart in between, but with a squirmy 2 year old, we are just happy to get the idea of a heart. We also made some fun thumbprint cards for some special Valentine's. Henry loves to do crafts. They do them at school all the time so he is ...

A Glimpse of Joy

Henry was all smiles when I picked him up early on Friday from school and told him we were going to see Juju and the gang. He had his Gigi, juice and his DVD player playing. He was set and ready! His little squinty smile is funny stuff. We traveled to Stuttgart on our way to Pine Bluff to see Samuel and Daniel play basketball. Henry had never been to a basketball game. He ran right onto the court and after the ball. Anna caught him for me. She is such a good little helper. I wish I had her all the time! Aren't they cute in their raccoon and beaver hats?! Daniel is on the far left and Samuel has the ball. I loved that they were both on the court at the same time. They are in a homeschool group that plays other homeschool groups and small private schools. It was fun to watch them play, cheer for them and hopefully not embarrass them. They are at that age and I forget sometimes. They are all still Henry's size in my aunt heart! This little love went to a lock-in with a local ...

Beach Bums

Henry took his first trip to the beach this past week. We visited Orange Beach, on the Alabama Gulf Coast. It was great fun for all 3 of us....yet Henry had the most fun, I think! It was such a joy to watch him get hit by his first wave. I love that I actually captured it. His squeals and laughter will be stored in my heart forever. He is just too funny. I love that child. We had our photos taken on the beach one morning while we were there. I am a social media junkie...though I am trying to cut back some for fear the state may come take my baby if I don't mop the floor more often...but it my social media escapades I found a new friend on the Alabama Gulf Coast who was kind enough to lend her photography talents to my little crew. Henry did not pose for any of his shots. I know some of you who have seen the full online album are in awe at his photos. I am afraid he is a natural...like his Mama! ha. I love how Michelle captured him in true Henry form in all her shots. It ma...

Showering A Friend With Some Baby Love

This weekend I had the honor of hosting a baby shower for my friend Sandy in my home with a few other girls. Sandy and I met when I moved to town through the newcomers club. Sara (standing next to me) is also a friend from that club and my running buddy. The other two girls were church friends of Sandy's that joined Sara and me in hosting the shower. We had a great time getting to know each other and showering our sweet friend. Our shower table turned out so pretty. I made the cake and did the decor. The other hostesses did the rest of the food and punch. The baby's room is green and pink so we tried to match it! The baby's last name is also Green, so using green was great fun. I made the cake. A 4 layer strawberry cake with buttercream icing. It was so much fun to make. I have not had that much fun decorating a cake in a very long time. I prepared in advance to make it and had no other irons in the fire. It made all the difference in the world! I loved listening to my ...

A Little Marmie Love

Yay! Marmie came to see us over the weekend. "Marms" got here in time to go with me to pick up Henry Friday afternoon. He had not seen her in a terribly long time, yet when he saw her at his door he smiled and reached for her. It was the sweetest thing. He loved Showing "Marms" all his tricks and toys. She took pictures of everything he did. I stole most of these off her camera. She is truly a grandma! Henry loved playing in Marmie's room (our guest room) because he is rarely invited in that room for play. He is a mess and she is a mess for encouraging it! We spent a lot of our weekend swinging this little turkey! He loves his tree swing in the front yard and would stay in it all day if it were allowed. We had so much fun with Marmie and loved every minute of our visit. This was a shot Marmie took of Henry eating his kids chicken strips, fries and bbq beans at Couch's BBQ...."nothing fancy, just good food!" Abby

Juju's Joy

Henry's Juju had been begging for him. Relentless begging. So, we let her have him. We even let her have him with Croup. She is a jewel of an aunt for that, and I am one naughty mama. We took him to her house and then meet her 2 days later to pick him up in Little Rock. This is Henry seeing me for the first time in 48 hours. We had not been away from one another that long since June, the last time he stayed with his Juju. He was emotionally conflicted, as you can tell. Juju and Anna did not want to hand him over. She had just changed his diaper in the bathroom, that is why the reunion took place here...in case you were wondering. I got to see 3 of my fab 4. I love seeing there little faces in person. Their little smiles and hugs make my heart happy. Aren't they the cutest things?! I missed you, Samuel! Henry headed home with his daddy and me admiring the new lovie we bought him while we were away. Henry would have been happy to stay with his Juju longer, I am sure. She took ...

What We Have Been Up To

This past week has been a busy and fun one for us. Here is a recap of some of our festivities. We headed to the Fort to celebrate with Mama and Julie's family. We all rode the train at the park. We love that train. It was Henry's first train ride. We did not let him ride the train at Zoo Lights earlier in the month so this could be his first train ride. He smiled the whole way and was mad when we got off. Henry finally got to meet our Aunt Donna. It was one of the best parts of Christmas this year. I loved how they looked at each other. It was an instant bond. I got to love on my first babies for a wee bit. Julie's kids make aunthood blissful. We then came home to have Christmas in our matching pj's. We had so much fun. Nana and Papa came to celebrate with us. We enjoyed having them with us Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Santa came and Henry is now in toyland Daddy is now giving lots of wagon rides around the house And I am sitting here trying to remember all ...
