Craft Crazy

I have so many fun ideas in my head but very few make it to fruition these days with being a working mother of a toddler and wife to a husband who travels. I love my many blessings, so don't think I am complaining...just being for reals here...a girl can't do it all, all the time! So, this past weekend I decided we were going to create and that we did! It was a crazy, fun time. It felt so good to get it out of my head and see the ideas come to life.

I am loving Pinterest. I am getting all sorts of handprint/footprint ideas for H. I decided to do a handprint or footprint each month this year and make a calendar of them next year. So, we made this footprint into a snowman and we went ahead and did a Valentine hand craft. It is suppose to make a heart in between, but with a squirmy 2 year old, we are just happy to get the idea of a heart. We also made some fun thumbprint cards for some special Valentine's. Henry loves to do crafts. They do them at school all the time so he is a pro with the hand and foot painting.

Friday night I went up to the office/craft room and did Cricut crafts until I could do no more. It was so much fun. I was up there all alone with my Pandora stations playing. It was fabulous fun. Randall was in his garage putting a new part on his 4-wheeler and watching ESPN, so we were both in our element and happy chickens. Anyway, I made these cute "Soapin you'll be my Valentine" for some special teachers. It was a fun craft and cheap to boot...score!

This is when I knew it was time to close up shop and go to bed. I decaled Henry's tub. This picture is not stellar.It is straighter than it appears in this photo. It is actually pretty cute in person. I also decaled Randall's door in his garage "Howdy" in silver vinyl. He encouraged me to go to bed at that point! I love my Cricut.

I purchased an iron on design for H on Etsy last week to put on a shirt. I then realized I could possibly make some of them on my own, so I did. My pal at work showed me some easy steps and I made this houndstooth H. I made one for Melissa's little Luke just like this one. It is so fun. I know it will not wear/wash much more than 5 or 6 times, but it cost me nothing but the iron on paper. I love dressing my boy!
And this is my big project right now. My kitchen is in remodel mode. Randall painted over the orange walls with gray. It is quite a change, but one I am excited about. We have wanted a gray room for a couple of years but have had no luck with finding a room for it to work in until now. We are keeping our black cabinets and adding this fabric in the kitchen in several places. I am excited to simplify the kitchen a little bit. It had gotten so busy and loud. The gray has made it much lighter. I will post pictures when we finish. We are waiting on our new fridge to arrive and deciding on an oven....which may take forever if it is anything like the fridge. We have been using the fridge in the garage since before Christmas, trying to decide on a new one for the kitchen (ours went out in early December). I have not yet complained about it but there are many nights I want to when I walk out in the cold to get my grub! It will be beautiful when it is finished, I hope!

8 years ago today I met this sweet man in the picture above. We met on a blind date in the Bluff City (aka- Memfrica). He and I were simply going out to shut up his stepmother and my sister, who had decided that we were meant to be together from one simple fridge photo and a dog named Abby. All Aboard The Birthday Polar Express

  Can you believe Henry Patton will be 4 years old tomorrow?! Neither can we. We celebrated his birthday last weekend with his first all boy party, polar express style. I had so much fun preparing for it, as you can probably tell! My mother who is never at a loss for words said it looked like Polar Express threw up in my house. She was SO right and we loved it! We had a breakfast pajama party with 7 three and four year old boys. It was such a fun time.   I had his pajamas monogrammed with a train and his name. He loved them and I liked how they sort of looked like the ones on the movie. Henry loved all the bells I had everywhere. There is no doubt we believe at this house. We had the jingle loud and proud!   I had his invitation made from a shop on Etsy and I was very pleased with them. One of his little friends came to the door ready for me to punch his ticket.
