SFC in the Magnolia State

We spent New Years Day with our Daddy at his home in north Mississippi for S Family Christmas (Julie calls it SFC and I sort of like it, so we will shorten it to that when typing. Our maiden name starts with an "S" but we refrain from typing out last names on our blog)

Daddy's first picture with all 5 of his grandchildren. He was pretty smitten with all of them being in his house and the smile on his face speaks for itself. These children are loved so much by all their grandparents and are in turn a tad bit spoiled, but that is okay I reckon.

Connie is Daddy's wife and she is just as smitten with the children as Daddy is. Henry is the first of our children that she has known as a baby, so she is really enjoying having a baby to love on.

Henry with his Grandaddy. Henry has no idea how silly and fun his Grandaddy is but will soon enough. I can only imagine the tales he will tell of his visits with this man.

PRICELESS!
Juju FINALLY got to hold her boy again. The look on her face and the look on his face speak for themselves. I think of that song,"Reunited And It Feels So Good" when I look at this picture. She kept trying to get him to look at her and say "Mama". Hello...I am the Mama.

Anna and Her Mama love a baby, especially Henry. He will never have to touch the floor with Juju and the Fab Four around.

Aunt Abby and our Princess Anna. She still reigns and I know she is most happy about that. She is the prettiest little girl with the funniest personality. I am so glad we have her in the mix with our crew of boys.

Ashley ( Connie's daughter) is pretty smitten with Henry. We love Ashley. She is so cute and funny.

Wilma and Charles' girls. Yep, we are the S threesome. We are a special little group and will be tight even when we are old and gray. Meemaw and Peepaw must look down from heaven each year when we take this picture and beam from ear to ear.

The S girls with their husbands. They both had husbands WAY before me. They are much, much older than me -ha. I am the baby of the group. Meemaw used to feel sorry for me and buy me stuff and her excuse was that I did not have a husband to buy things for me and when I got one she would stop buying extra things for me. The Lord took her home before that cord was cut. (I promise she would laugh at this...so it is okay to laugh...it is funny)

The S girls with their families. Who would have ever thought we three would be in a picture with our "families"! I am so glad I could arrange for this picture to finally happen. I finally had my baby after years of Christmases saying "Next year I will have a baby at Christmas". Juju is so glad she will not have to hear that ever again. It got on her nerves.

My first baby boy is getting so big. I was 18 when he was born and thought being an aunt made me super cool and I secretly still think it does!
Samuel and Henry. Our oldest and youngest together. I love how gentle Samuel is with Henry and how his face beamed with pride when he met him for the first time on this day. I look forward to Henry looking up to Samuel as a role model.

David holding Henry for the first time. He is the oldest of the twins. When he was a baby he looked like me. I love that about him because my baby boy looks nothing like me. I am glad my sister had a baby that looked like me. Henry will love learning historical and war facts from this little book worm.
Daniel holding Henry for the first time. He is the youngest of the twins. His little smile melts my heart. He is his mother's child. Henry will love learning how to color in the lines and be creative from this talented boy.
Anna's smile says it all. She is elated to be holding her baby cousin for the first time. It is a real live baby doll! Henry has no idea what is ahead of him with this sweet girl in the mix.

I love this. The first picture of the Fab Five. Daniel had an injury from playing outside and was trying his best to hold back the tears for the photo. What a sport!

Enough Said....and look at her smile.

Enough said....and look at his smile. His new grilling apron with his grandkids names on it.
Uncle Joe and Randall having a fun time at SFC.

These special girls came to visit us at Daddy's so they could see Henry. We always love a good laugh and hug from them.

Henry was out like a light at the end of the day. He was kissed, hugged, held, and fussed plum out. We had a great SFC and can't wait to see all of them again real soon.

A Blind Date & Leaving Comments

8 years ago today I met this sweet man in the picture above. We met on a blind date in the Bluff City (aka- Memfrica). He and I were simply going out to shut up his stepmother and my sister, who had decided that we were meant to be together from one simple fridge photo and a dog named Abby. Little did we know they would be able to pat themselves on the back for the rest of their lives . I am so glad we both agreed to go out for that one date on New Years Eve 2001 because I have had him in my life everyday since that crazy night at my cousin Hollye's back door when he arrived to pick me up to find a baby on my hip that he thought was mine. I remember those beautiful blue eyes and how they about popped out of his head as he stood at the door wondering why no one had mentioned my child. That baby on my hip was Claire. She was 1 then and had just gone number 2 in her diaper right before he rang the bell. She had Styrofoam all over her and me from playing in Christmas boxes. Needless t

All Aboard The Birthday Polar Express

Can you believe Henry Patton will be 4 years old tomorrow?! Neither can we. We celebrated his birthday last weekend with his first all boy party, polar express style. I had so much fun preparing for it, as you can probably tell! My mother who is never at a loss for words said it looked like Polar Express threw up in my house. She was SO right and we loved it! We had a breakfast pajama party with 7 three and four year old boys. It was such a fun time.   I had his pajamas monogrammed with a train and his name. He loved them and I liked how they sort of looked like the ones on the movie. Henry loved all the bells I had everywhere. There is no doubt we believe at this house. We had the jingle loud and proud!   I had his invitation made from a shop on Etsy and I was very pleased with them. One of his little friends came to the door ready for me to punch his ticket. It was so cute. I ran to get a hole punch and punched it for him. Every good party has to have go

Pedicure Pledge

Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again. Please raise your big toes and repeat after me: As a member of the Sandal Sisterhood, I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes: I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps. I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe. I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow. I will shave the hairs off my big toe. I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there. If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back in to place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it. No matter how much it hurts. I will
