A Few Shots And A Shower

Sweet Henry got his 6 months shots this week. We love his doctor. He is such a blessing to our little family. I am glad he came to our hospital room as the doctor on call when Henry was born, otherwise I would not have known how wonderful he is. We had chosen a different doctor for Henry but I made the switch to him after seeing his bedside manner. I love this picture because it needs no caption!
Our little Daddy with his boy. He met us at the doctor. He is such a sweet little Daddy! Henry and I are about 3 blocks from one another during the week. His doctor's office is right between us. Driving to all 3 places is a little much so I decided we would walk. His daycare director gave me the daycare stroller and insisted I use it. They fixed him a bottle and gave him his blanket. It was so cute watching them pack him up in that little bitty stroller with all his stuff. They then walked me out with him and wished him well with his shots. I think they love him as much as we do....I just love that!

Henry did so good at the doctor. He only cried when he got the shots and I got a little misty eyed myself. This was the first time he was really aware what was happening and felt the pain in a whole new way. Poor little punkin! He was so sleepy when I took him back to daycare, but in true Henry fashion he did not nap very long because it would mean missing out on all his friends. He was asleep for the night at 5:10 and had to be woken up to eat. That's my boy!

I hosted a shower in my office a few hours after Henry's doctor visit. I was a busy girl that day. I even made the cake! I am a party planner at heart, and it is often part of my job too. It is the best part, I think! We had 6 hostesses but I just had them pay me and I did it all. It is also the control freak in me too! It makes me happy.

I loved how it all looked. I told everyone that our office needed to be cleaned so what better excuse to clean...throw a party! We cleaned it the best a marketing office can actually be cleaned and decorated it in the colors the nursery will be in. It turned out so cute, I thought.

Deania is due in less than a month and is having a little boy, Drew. I loved the initial I painted for the cake. She is a precious friend of mine and I am excited about her new addition!
(I thought I loaded a hostess photo, but I must not have. Oh well, you can imagine how cute we looked behind the food table.)

A busy week makes for a tired working mama. I think if I sat real still I might fall over. I am really starting to wonder if my iron is still low or am I just out of shape and over extended? ha.

Love that cake. Looks delish!
Your sweet baby is getting so big!
I love the office shower pics! That's the nicest office shower I've ever seen and a great idea for a cake. I'll let you know the next time I'm hosting a party and you can give me some tips.

I love the picture of Henry and his doctor. The cake you made looks awesome!
I am so impressed with party planning! Green is my favorite color and it made me smile to see how creatively you used it ... Fabulous job!

(And Henry has so many adorable expressions -- that boy is going to melt a lot hearts in his time!)

A Blind Date & Leaving Comments

8 years ago today I met this sweet man in the picture above. We met on a blind date in the Bluff City (aka- Memfrica). He and I were simply going out to shut up his stepmother and my sister, who had decided that we were meant to be together from one simple fridge photo and a dog named Abby. Little did we know they would be able to pat themselves on the back for the rest of their lives . I am so glad we both agreed to go out for that one date on New Years Eve 2001 because I have had him in my life everyday since that crazy night at my cousin Hollye's back door when he arrived to pick me up to find a baby on my hip that he thought was mine. I remember those beautiful blue eyes and how they about popped out of his head as he stood at the door wondering why no one had mentioned my child. That baby on my hip was Claire. She was 1 then and had just gone number 2 in her diaper right before he rang the bell. She had Styrofoam all over her and me from playing in Christmas boxes. Needless t

All Aboard The Birthday Polar Express

Can you believe Henry Patton will be 4 years old tomorrow?! Neither can we. We celebrated his birthday last weekend with his first all boy party, polar express style. I had so much fun preparing for it, as you can probably tell! My mother who is never at a loss for words said it looked like Polar Express threw up in my house. She was SO right and we loved it! We had a breakfast pajama party with 7 three and four year old boys. It was such a fun time.   I had his pajamas monogrammed with a train and his name. He loved them and I liked how they sort of looked like the ones on the movie. Henry loved all the bells I had everywhere. There is no doubt we believe at this house. We had the jingle loud and proud!   I had his invitation made from a shop on Etsy and I was very pleased with them. One of his little friends came to the door ready for me to punch his ticket. It was so cute. I ran to get a hole punch and punched it for him. Every good party has to have go

Pedicure Pledge

Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again. Please raise your big toes and repeat after me: As a member of the Sandal Sisterhood, I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes: I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps. I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe. I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow. I will shave the hairs off my big toe. I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there. If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back in to place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it. No matter how much it hurts. I will
