Henry - 6 Month Photos

Well, Lindsey did it again! (She has more on her blog if you want to look at a few more snapshots of our boy) She came to our house for the day earlier in the month and took Henry's 6 month pictures. She always captures his sweet little spirit each time. I love it! She is such a dear friend of ours and I love that she helps us record all his sweet little milestones. Abby

It really all comes back to David

Last week while we were at the pool, David needed to run home for something.) And when I say run home, I mean ride his bike. We live like 5 houses down from the pool) I gave him the garage door opener to get in the house and he gave it back to me when he got back. But not before he had already spent a good 20 minutes with it in his pocket, in the pool. So, yes the opener is trash! It was the only one that worked, so now we are without a garage door opener. Friday night we came home from dinner and I had to go around to the back of the house unlock the door and go to the garage and open the door from the inside. But when I came in from outside the phone was ringing. I ran to answer it before I opened the garage door, it was David (who is staying at Stephen's parents for a few days) I told him to hold on and then procedded to drop the phone to the floor. Or what I thought was going to be the floor. Since the kitchen was dark I had forgotten that the cooler was sitting there and it wa...

Good Medicine

I got a quick weekend visit from my dear friend, Paige and her little Charlie Kate. Having children makes the visits a lot different, but a lot of fun! I love that Henry and CK will be close in age. They are already a mess together, I can only imagine what it will be like... I love that Paige lives closer now. We are good medicine for each other and we have both been in need of some meds lately. Ha! She is a blessing to me and I think she feels the same about me. I thought this was too cute not to post. Henry spit up in it and and CK went number two...nothing like a baby pool! This week I am traveling with my hunky husband. There is nothing I love more than air travel with this man. I know that sounds silly, but it is so true. We have so much fun. This is where I am sitting and typing. I best get back to enjoying my time here. I will post more when I get back to the "dirty delta". Abby

Random....again

Just so that you don't forget who the other sister is on this blog, I will give you a random list of my life in the last week! ***Anna decided she can swim without her floaties . She is jumping off the diving board and swimming in the deep end now. Oh, if she would only decide she could do a couple of other things! ***Samuel is getting ready for a ball tournament and boy scout camp. He has a jammed thumb but insists he is fine. ***On our flight to Orlando the TSA checked my checked baggage. While doing so they unzipped my makeup bag and took the lid off of my brand new full can of hairspray. When I got the bag after the flight it reeked of hairspray. The bottle was completely empty after spewing its contents on Stephen's shorts and shirts. His only casual clothes for the trip. ***Somehow my clothes were unharmed but lay right next to his. I had to go buy another can of hairspray ***Yes, we went shopping for some casual clothes. ***I still haven't developed any Disney pictu...

Happy Father's Day

Happy day to the fathers of our children and to our sweet ole Daddy! As you can see, Henry was so excited to celebrate with his Daddy for the first time.

A Few Shots And A Shower

Sweet Henry got his 6 months shots this week. We love his doctor. He is such a blessing to our little family. I am glad he came to our hospital room as the doctor on call when Henry was born, otherwise I would not have known how wonderful he is. We had chosen a different doctor for Henry but I made the switch to him after seeing his bedside manner. I love this picture because it needs no caption! Our little Daddy with his boy. He met us at the doctor. He is such a sweet little Daddy! Henry and I are about 3 blocks from one another during the week. His doctor's office is right between us. Driving to all 3 places is a little much so I decided we would walk. His daycare director gave me the daycare stroller and insisted I use it. They fixed him a bottle and gave him his blanket. It was so cute watching them pack him up in that little bitty stroller with all his stuff. They then walked me out with him and wished him well with his shots. I think they love him as much as we do....I jus...

A Relay for Life kind of weekend

Abby and I both participated in our local Relay for Life events this weekend. One of us more than the other. But, one of us had a baby six months ago! Our cub scouts and boy scouts had a RFL team for the first time this year. And somehow I got to be team captain. (I'm pretty sure I won't be asked to do that again!) Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event takes place for about 12 hours on a Friday night, until Saturday morning. I questioned why there was a need to stay up all night when we were adults and very obviously needed our sleep, and was told that one team raised $8000 after midnight Friday night! Unbelievable!!! I didn't stay all night. Anna, Daniel, David and I left at 12:30. Samuel and Stephen had already gone home. Samuel had a baseball tournament the next day with the first game being played at 9:00am. We all needed our sleep. So we got it. Not much, I got about 4 hours, but it was better than none!!! Our RFL team didn't ...

1/2 A Year Already

6 months ago today we were bringing this sweet boy home from the hospital. What an exciting 1/2 year this has been for us. He is my biggest blessing. I tell his Daddy not to feel bad about hearing that Henry beat him on the blessing scale these days because without him I would not have this biggest blessing. His Daddy is my biggest love....I love, love, love that man! What an experience this has been as husband and wife, becoming Mama and Daddy. Wow. This boy is my heart. I tell him that he is Mama's heart, because he is. I feel like my heart was taken and put outside of my body in the form of Henry (I know that sounds cliche, but I mean it). I just love it so much. I can honestly say that I wake up with a smile each morning because of this little love. He always wakes up smiling up at me, so how can I not smile?! He is so full of life and personality. Watch out world... Henry is already making his mark! I love already seeing him blossom into the man God wants him to be. It is tru...

An Observation from Disney World

I knew that while we were at Disney World we were going to encounter many different types of people. My children have only lived in rural towns in Arkansas. We are by no means in a cultural mecca. We usually see people that look like us and talk like us. At Disney World we walked by and sat next to, many people from different countries that spoke different languages. My children were not impressed with that much at all. I was. I was always trying to figure out what they were saying. I doubt I was ever right. Something else that was fun for me was to figure out which people were Americans and which ones were from different countries by the way they dressed. It seemed like the women from other countries showed more skin that we traditionally show here. But they wore their clothing with such grace and comfort it didn't seem trashy. But then I would see American women trying to be provocative and it seemed trashy. Really, is there a need to be provocative at Disney World? The bigges...

The Pool is Open!

Summer is here! The pool is open! You know how I love the pool. This year I wasn't very excited about it. The kids could sense it. Stephen even asked why. I told him it was because I was fat. He assured me I was no fatter this year than last year. And strangely, it didn't even hurt my feelings. I needed to know that I was just the same as last year. Comforting in a strange way. It opened Monday and we have been there since. I have taken my Kindle in a baggie. They have waterproof cases for it, but the reviews I read said that a baggie worked just as good. And I can get a whole box of those for under $2. The case costs like $40. And yes, I am that cheap. The baggies won! I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to read it at the pool, but I'm so happy to say that I can!!! This is going to be a great summer!!! I didn't tell you that Samuel made the all-star team again this year. This is his 5th year in a row to make it. It's hot, but we love it and he does t...
