Our Happy Days

This boy makes me happy! After 7 months I think I finally realize that being truly happy and focused on Jesus, this sweet boy and his daddy is all I am asked to do in this life. Everything after that is just the cherry on top. We are making a personal commitment in our home to cut out unneeded stress and drama, and focus on the real deal. It is a challenge for me at times, but one that is refreshing and most honorable. I am blessed and it is time I act like it!

This is when I want to stress but have to stop and laugh...silly boy! He pushed the sweet potato jar out of my hand and there you have it...all over the floor, cabinet and me. It even made it to the laundry doors behind me in this picture. It was everywhere. He just had that look of wonder and confusion on his face and could not understand why the feeding stopped and he kept barking for more. I must say that it was a cute mess!

This clean, happy face is what it is all about. When you look at this face you can tell he knows he is loved, cared for, cherished and I think you can even see some rottenness in this face. ha. He loves his duck bath tub our friend Cathy gave him at my FS shower last Fall. I know she smiles when she sees how much he loves sitting in it. The beak of the duck even quacks!

I love being able to really enjoy all the simple things with Henry. Like his first time to sit in a shopping cart like a big boy ( *cough *cough - he sat in a cart while under the care of his Juju last month but we are acting like we do not know about that). And of course, it had to be at none other place than Wally World! We are Arkansans by the grace of God and we are proud of it! Ha. I usually go to Kroger but needed "staples" so Wal-Mart it was! He LOVED it. He had a look of shock and amazement the whole way through the store and back out to the car. It was a taste of independence and he liked it! We saw a Facebook friend in Wal-Mart that we never see in person and that made for a super fun trip. Facebook...Randall says it is the devil, but it has some redeeming qualities, like seeing our friend in person that we would otherwise not know that well!

Having more time to spend with those who mean the most to us is making for the happiest of days this Summer. We are headed to the Lone Star state to see this sweet lady and her better half (my grandparents...and Julie's too) and I cannot wait to get in that kitchen with her and make something yummy!

What makes you happy this Summer?

I know this sounds strange...especially when everyone is complaining about the hot weather. But my favorite thing is to get up early on summer mornings and go outside in my PJ's (we do live in the country) and just feel so warm! I hate cold weather so I long for going out first thing in the a.m. without 3 layers of clothes!!

Oooh, I love all the Henry pictures. And I love this post. And the first paragraph you wrote is just exactly what I am happy about in my life, too: Jesus, my family and all our blessings!
Enjoy your time in the Lone Star state - we are loving living here! :)

Henry is so cute! This summer spending time with my husband and girls has been my favorite thing to do. I have enjoyed this new baby so much. I had the "new mom syndrome" with Mary-Kate. Everything scared me. I had her in the doctor's office over every little thing. (Not really, but pretty much.) I boiled bottles. If anything touched the floor I washed it. Ha. Now with the 2nd baby I am more laid back. I realize she will keep breathing if I am not staring at her. LOL.

All Aboard The Birthday Polar Express

Can you believe Henry Patton will be 4 years old tomorrow?! Neither can we. We celebrated his birthday last weekend with his first all boy party, polar express style. I had so much fun preparing for it, as you can probably tell! My mother who is never at a loss for words said it looked like Polar Express threw up in my house. She was SO right and we loved it! We had a breakfast pajama party with 7 three and four year old boys. It was such a fun time.   I had his pajamas monogrammed with a train and his name. He loved them and I liked how they sort of looked like the ones on the movie. Henry loved all the bells I had everywhere. There is no doubt we believe at this house. We had the jingle loud and proud!   I had his invitation made from a shop on Etsy and I was very pleased with them. One of his little friends came to the door ready for me to punch his ticket. It was so cute. I ran to get a hole punch and punched it for him. Every good party has to have go

Meet Shaun

This is my single co-worker and church friend, Shaun. He and I have so much fun bantering back and forth. He takes what I dish out and scoops it right back up and hands it back to me. He is a keeper for that and many other reasons, which I will share on this post. He was kind enough to allow me to highlight him on Kelly’s Korner http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/ for her singles link up. His last words to me about this were, “ This better not be an embarrassment! ” I trust I will do my best to make it not be, but I make no promises! The first thing you need to know about Shaun is that he loves Jesus and the Boston Red Sox . He asked Jesus into his heart at age 8 and is still seeking and serving him today at age 26. Shaun graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in digital media and design. When he is not busy creating masterpieces for our customers he is hiking, watching the Red Sox , playing basketball, horsing around at the lake or beach, and watching movies. He is fu

He's home!

I know you didn't know my dear husband was out of town. I decided not to post such information. I get scared enough as it is, I sure didn't want to advertise the information. Yes, you read correctly, I get scared. Before we had children, and well, even after Samuel was born, I would stay with a friend of mine when Stephen was gone overnight. When we moved from that town I didn't have anyone to stay with, so I would just sit up and watch tv all night. Fear kept me awake. Isn't that silly? Well, it didn't seem so at the time, but when I look back on it now it seems silly. That is until I have to be without a manly-man in the house. I'm telling you what, I hear every noise, sound, creak, croak. It's awful. Sunday night (the first night) while I was lying AWAKE in my bed I was praying and telling God that I knew He didn't want me to be fearful and that I knew there were many verses in the Bible that told of His being with me at nighttime . I just couldn'
