Waiting

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV) "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." My cousin reminded me to read and claim these verses this past week. I had a pretty rough week and she knows my path and my heart well. I am studying Isaiah in BSF and it amazes me to see how other recent readings and people outside of BSF point me back to Isaiah. God is so real, relevant and alive. I love how he guides me. I don't always understand it or like where he leads me, but I do find such comfort in knowing He has a plan. A wonderful, master plan, a plan that is better than anything I could ever cook up on my own. I don't know what you are waiting on, yet I do know that the waiting room of life can be challenging, regardless what you are waiting on. I am waiting also. Some days I want to beat the walls down and make my littl...

Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates

...You never know what you are going to get. What a Summer. I felt every emotion this Summer. I am still a bit raw, but a happy kind of raw. "Raw" is my new word. Not sure why. Maybe because I have felt it so much lately. I need to get a new word, I know. I know many of you have wondered what has been going on with me, but I have not felt it was the right time to share until now. Silence and patience really are a beautiful thing. I am still working on both...a lifelong process, I tell ya! In mid-June I left my job with no plan. No plan. I am Type A....I had no plan. Hello! I did not even go into work that day thinking it was the day I would leave. God will smack his children across the head to get His point across if you ignore Him for too long. That is what happened on that hot, sticky, overcast day in June. I am so glad God loves me like he does...but it hurt! I wish I had some big, grand story to tell you about what happened but I still don't know what happened. it so...

If You Start To Faint...Holler

These are the words I just spoke to my overworked husband, as he came to the back door covered in sweat wanting water. God love that man! Pray for his strength, if he happens to cross your mind in the coming weeks. He is burning the wick at both ends and I am so proud of him, yet exhausted for him. Well, it has been a while since I posted. Life is moving in fast forward and I don't always have access to a computer or Internet. In fact, not sure when I will have it after today. So, be prepared to be reading all about Jules because there will be very little of me for a while. Don't be sad...I will be back! Last week we found a tiny little new townhouse to rent month to month until we decide on a house. The owner was nice enough to not make us sign a lease. Anyway, our house has not been shown in over two weeks and that is a huge thorn in the ole rump, as you can imagine. We live about 20 miles from Memfricia and we fear the gas prices are keeping people from looking out in the s...

This Place

I debated sharing my heart about this, but I just have to. I want all of you (whoever you are…we know we have lots of lurkers and we are thrilled you like us!) to feel my heartbeat at this amazing, scary, fun, life-altering, God-given and stressful time in my life. Tomorrow is my last day of work at ECS. My Mama and I were talking via cellphone during our commutes home this afternoon and she asked me if it would be an emotional day for me and I said "Nah, it shouldn't. I cried all the way home one day last week and got it out of my system". I actually believed those words until I sat down to type my boss, Rex, a good-bye letter. The past year has been an unexpected Gift from God. From the day my Aunt Babs emailed me while I was sitting miserably at the very worst job in THE world to tell me of the job opportunity at ECS, and until this very moment. I have become stronger, confident, sharper in my God-given talents, and rich in friendship because of (as Rex always says), ...

Mister, Let Me Off This Ride!

Oh, I screamed that on a roller coaster with Sarah when I was a little girl and I feel like screaming it today. I am glad God feels it necessary to test me, but I am getting a little worn out. Job uncertainties, job possibilities , headache management, family planning, indecisive vacation planning, weight loss plateaus, car wrecks, and car purchasing. AHHHHHHH !!!! These are all things I am passionate about and they are all up in the air. I count it all Joy, yet I am a little frazzled by it all. My sister has told me often "He doesn't put more on us that we can bear" and she is so right about that. I found a few letters she has written me over the years last week in a photo box. So many of them recite that statement. For she and I have been through alot , both together and individually. Thank God for my Conan ( my pet name for Jules). My Daddy just texted me and asked me how I feel today after my wreck and I just simply replied, "exhausted". I smiled after I...
